FIRST AID TRAINING WITH IAS

Immediate Action Services offers first aid training to groups, clubs, and businesses within and around Calgary, Alberta. All of our courses are presented by certified Instructors, and are tailored to your individual needs.

Designed for groups of six to twenty, our classes may be taught at your worksite or offsite.  Upon completion all students receive a nationally recognized certificate indicating their proficiency level.

We are proud to offer the following courses:

Emergency First Aid

Designed to provide life saving skills including:  scene management, artificial respiration, CPR, control of severe bleeding, shock care and emergency aid for choking. This is a one day course of approximately 6.5 hours duration.

Standard First Aid-A

This 14 hour course covers all the topics found in our Emergency First Aid course, and then continues on to cover secondary surveys, head and spinal injuries, bone and joint injuries, environmental illnesses and injuries, burns, eye injuries, and medical conditions.

Standard First Aid-C

This 16 hour course covers everything found in our Standard First Aid-A course, with the addition of infant/child resuscitation and CPR, and two-rescuer CPR.

Extended First Aid

This 24 hour course covers all aspects of non-Medical Services First Aid intervention.  Designed specifically for those who may be the only help available when working in remote areas.  This is also an excellent course for those wishing to become AFA IIs, EMRs, or Instructors.

Heartsaver CPR-A

This 4 hour course prepares the student to handle cardiac emergencies in adults. Course content includes scene management, artificial respiration, emergency care for choking, one-rescuer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and care for shock.

Infant/Child CPR-D

This 4 hour course provides the tools for ensuring care of Infant and Child respiratory and cardiac emergencies. A definite must for those caring for children.

Basic Rescuer CPR-C

An 8 hour course combining both Heartsaver and Infant/Child CPR. This class also covers two- rescuer CPR.

Immediate Action Services also offers training in Infection Control and Safety, Oxygen Administration, Wilderness Medical Techniques, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).  Contact us with your training needs!
