Immediate Action Services
"First in the Field"
IAS is more than a Company, it is a Family. Come meet the family...
One of the two founders of Immediate Action Services, Brian has garnered over 35 years of experience in the field, ranging from being a survival instructor and tactical unit medic to providing rural EMS coverage. He first thought of forming IAS in 2000 while attending a cross country motorcycle race in the Rocky Mountains. Together with Stephani, he developed the company as we now find it.
Always having had a love for emergency medicine, Brian spends most of his time researching items and finding new ways to approach old problems.
Definitely the driving force behind IAS, Stephani developed our event coverage branch and has been a crucial part of the ongoing preparation of all Immediate Action Services training systems.
A partner and Executive Officer of Immediate Action Services, Stephani is currently a registered EMT-A (Emergency Medical Technician-Ambulance) and an AFA II. In addition to working for a rural ambulance service, she also spends a great deal of time instructing and tutoring those preparing for a career in EMS. She is a nationally certified CPR and First Aid Instructor, as well as an Automated External Defibrillation, Oxygen Administration, BC Safety Oriented First Aid, and AFA instructor. She also teaches and develops Emergency Medical Responders, the first level of EMS response in Alberta.
In addition to her EMT certification, Stephani holds certifications in Basic Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Basic Trauma Life Support.
Patient care is always her priority and she continually upgrades her education and skills to meet this commitment. At present, Stephani is pursuing her Paramedic certification through Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She counts herself fortunate to have made a career doing something she truly loves.

Our Medical Advisor, Doctor Sood brings a virtual cornucopia of medical knowledge to IAS. One of Calgary's better known Doctors, Doctor Sood is a member of the Order of Canada, has been voted Physician of the Year for Calgary, has been named as one of the 100 outstanding physicians of the century, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Scotland.
Under his strong knowledge and guidance, IAS has designed and implemented comprehensive protocols for the care of the sick and injured. Always willing to help, the Doctor is a valued member of our team, and one of our greatest assets.
Fast...Courteous...Dynamic...All of these can only describe Khanh, or "Genghis". One of our more active team members and a constant booster to morale is this transplant from Saskatchewan. Khanh believes in helping newer members of the EMS fraternity as an EMR examiner and has been a walking, talking advertisement for our team. Khanh is constantly upgrading his skills and has never been known to shrink from duty. Newly armed with a portable alarm clock, Khanh is guaranteed to be there when called.

Renee possesses excellent patient care skills and wonderful interpersonal communications. If you need an alert and helpful presence at your event, Renee more than fits the bill.
IAS welcomes Chris to the team with open arms. His EMS skills are enhanced by his experience in Water Safety, Industrial Safety, and by his geriatric care background. Chris has training in Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Stroke rehabilitation, Professional Driving, and has a certificate in dealing with Child Maltreatment.
He is an energetic and capable Provider who is currently aiming toward amassing a wealth of EMS knowledge.
Capable, Attentive, yet easy going, Adam may be found keeping a close eye on the participants of any event. A quietly competent AFA and EMT-A, Adam has proven himself at many of our contracted events. Splitting his time between Paramedic studies, EMS, Lifeguarding, and examining EMRs, he brings a rich melange of experiences to our team. If it is a simple first aid treatment or a full immobilization, you may rest easy with Adam on the scene.
Lucky indeed are those who have actually spotted Travis at rest. Always moving about to lend a hand and aid where needed, Travis has become known as the "get it done" member of our team.
Not content to sit and wait for a call, Travis has managed patients, fixed machinery, and assisted in public relations matters for clients on a continual basis. Currently acting as our Logistics Officer, Travis plans to make EMS a lifelong career.
Never turning down an opportunity to assist, Travis is always willing to show his pride and joy while a part of any event.
Our Promotions and Marketing Director, Mary divides her time between IAS, Cochrane EMS, Calgary EMS, and being an AFA II/ EMR examiner and Instructor.
