WILDERNESS
MEDICINE TECHNIQUES
Designed for those times when there is no
Doctor, Immediate Action Services is proud to offer
Wilderness Medicine Techniques.
This four day course is designed to prepare
responders to handle the challenges of remote
medical emergencies. Students learn from
experienced instructors, developing techniques and
procedures both in the environment and in the
classroom.
Wilderness Medicine Techniques is conducted during both winter and summer periods. All of the courses are designed for six to twenty participants. A current Standard First Aid certification is considered the minimum prerequisite. Certification may be arranged as an addition to the core course.
This course is conducted on a scheduled basis, or on an "as required, as requested" basis. All those attending are expected to supply proper clothing for the outdoors, good boots, a sleeping bag and their own toiletries. Food and "lodging" will be supplied by IAS.
